In the Reader, this appeared to be fireworks which is, in a way, what it is, only on the ground. I love the contrast between the bright lava and the dark and the little bits of lava flying up into the air.
The impetus for this was to see if I could replicate the visual impact of Nature in oil paint !! The closest I’ve ever been to a volcano was in the movies, or T.V. Thanks for your comment !!!!!
