TONALIST AND REPRESENTATIONAL FINE ART
oil on canvas 36″x36″
Gorgeous scene Maurice ~ caught in a dream as I seek to look beyond what is.
Thanks Mary. Your perceptive comments are always a joy to receive. The screen doesn’t do justice to the painting–the size and texture add to the “beyond”. Wish you could see the painting in person.
Hi Maurice, here is the deal – if we ever travel to CT again or move back East your studio will be the first place on my list to stop. It would be an incredible joy to see your work, but perhaps witness you painting one of your masterpieces.
The tour includes lunch. Bring some of your masterpieces also.
🙂 you are so special. Thanks very much! Say hello to John for me – we’ll all celebrate your masterpieces together.
Jean, thanks for the beautiful comment!
My pleasure entirely.
Is this done with encaustic?
No Hollis, it’s oil paint, straight from the tube, applied with a special prepared brush—should take a month to dry.
I have never used paint straight from the tube. Always linseed oil or damar varnish. Very interesting. Luminous as always!
Try Winsor & Newton Liquin Original to dilute the paint—It handles better than the traditional linseed oil and damar varnish—more luminous.
