Of course, one could speculate whether, while your physical appearance may have changed, would you capture a similar character/personality, were you to create a similar work today, 😉
I know very little about painted portraiture, but it seems to me such works are more about an ‘average’ view because they are created over time – a simple photograph is much more about the moment.
