    • Thanks Margaret. I have found that a system or method kills creativity. I usually place one of my old photos (sometimes a picture of one of my old paintings,) on my music stand, next to my easel. I use this as a template, not to copy, but as a reference for color and value. So I start with a mental image of what I intend to do. From this point on, I’m open to anything that happens, I want to surprise myself. I take chances, and sometimes it produces results that amaze me. Then I know it’s time to stop painting. Thanks for asking.
