Thanks Debi. Have you seen the film “Gerhardt Richter Paints”? It’s available from Netflix, and I guess other places. In it, we see him using a 4 foot squeegie, He applies pigment to the blade, and drags it across the canvas. For the clouds, I tried this technique, using an 8 ” putty knife. It’s totally unpredictable, but the results can be astonishing. I really appreciate your comments !
no, not yet, but will look online for it – sounds exciting to try that!! unpredictable…. that sounds like Nature in her finest apparel. I enjoy sending art notes, its nice when it happens to me – and I like to ‘pass it on’ as well. Now…. the search is on for a 4 foot squeegee! lol 🙂
lovely sweeping strokes, the blush of apricot in the sky was a perfect touch for the marsh land scene ! the depth of tones is fabulous
